Menelabs ("we", "us", "our") operates the Chrysalis Pic mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is and is not collected when you use the App, and how we handle your privacy.

We take your privacy seriously. Chrysalis Pic was designed from the ground up to be a local-first, private application.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

Chrysalis Pic does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

Photos or images -- All photos you take or import remain exclusively on your device
Project data -- Project names, descriptions, captions, and settings are stored locally in an on-device database
Personal information -- We do not require registration, login, or any personal details to use the App
Location data -- The App does not access or store your location
Contacts or address book -- The App does not access your contacts
Browsing or usage tracking -- We do not use analytics SDKs, trackers, or fingerprinting

2. Data Storage

All data created by the App is stored locally on your device:

Photos are saved to the App's private storage directory on your device's file system
Metadata (project names, dates, captions, settings) is stored in a local SQLite database on your device
Preferences (camera defaults, guide shapes, reminder settings) are stored locally on your device

No data is synced to any cloud server or third-party service. If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted.

3. Device Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

Camera -- Required to take progress photos. Camera access is only used during active photo capture within the App.
Storage / Media Library -- Required to import photos from your device gallery and to export/save photos to your device.
Notifications -- Optional. Used to send local reminder notifications that you configure. Reminders are scheduled locally and do not involve any server communication.

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time through your device's system settings. Revoking permissions may limit certain features of the App.

4. Sharing and Export

When you use the share or export features, the App uses your device's native sharing mechanism (share sheet). The App itself does not transmit any data -- it simply provides the content to the operating system's share interface. What happens after you share is governed by the receiving application's privacy policy.

5. In-App Purchases

Premium purchases are handled entirely by the platform's app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store). We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. Purchase records are managed by the respective app store. Please refer to their privacy policies:

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the App does not collect any personal data from any user, there is no risk of children's data being collected.

7. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The App does not contain ads. The only third-party interaction is with the platform's app store for processing in-app purchases.

8. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on your device's security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend:

Using a screen lock on your device
Keeping your device's operating system up to date
Regularly backing up your device

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data exists only on your device. You can delete individual photos, entire projects, or all data at any time within the App. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all associated data. We have no copies of your data and cannot recover it once deleted.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store any of your personal data, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. You have full control over all data within the App on your device.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, California, or other jurisdictions with data protection laws, please note that we do not process any personal data, and therefore GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations do not apply to our data practices.
